I would like to introduce "Starbrow" to my many friends around the world who are reading my books! You see "Starbrow" is this incredible spiritual adventure novel written by my son Tim Ray. It's just such a fun book and so exciting - and at the same time - Tim presents many of the same spiritual and mental principles that I write about in my books. All packed into this "wham bam thank you mam" adventure story. (For more about Starbrow see our Web site: www.beamteam.com)
So if you'd like to read Starbrow - I am going to send a free copy of the book (in English) to the first 25 people who send me an email at info@beamteam.com saying that you read my blog and would like to read Starbrow.
Love ya!
I just spent 2 days with Adam. You see Adam is my grandson and he is going to be 1 year old in 10 days. And boy can he focus. It's such an incredible experience to spend hours and hours with this little gentleman. Pure meditation. Yesterday afternoon I found myself entering the most incredible space with him. The present! The here and now. Things got very quiet. I got very quiet. He got very quiet. And wow - we were just here, we were just now. And watching him was just amazing. He is so totally present, so totally here now. No story about the past, no story about the future. No worries about anything. Just focusing on what is in front of his nose. Frame after frame after frame. It's now and now and now. Again and again. And everything is so new. So fresh. So exciting. This spoon. Wow. This block. Wow. This piece of paper. Wow. This shoe. Wow. This piece of rice cake. Wow. This sound. Wow. This ray of light coming in the window. Wow.
The power of your focus is really the only power you have. What do you give your attention to? That's really the crucial question. Do you give your attention to everything that's wrong in your life - or do you give your attention to all the Good in your life? Because energy flows where attention goes.
Try this experiment. Take out a piece of paper and write down every Good thing you can think of in your life... or just go for a walk and think about every Good thing in your life... and see how this makes you feel. When you focus your attention in this way, amazing things happen.
Here's a wonderful affirmation from Florence Shovel Shinn that I use and love: "I praise what strength I have. I give thanks for what health I have. I glory in what life I have and God now gives the increase." This affirmation is a great way of focusing your attention on the Good. Try saying this affirmation over and over for a few days and see what happens!
Love you!
If you are having a health problem - what's your focus? Are you thinking about your strength or your weakness? Here's an interesting story.
A woman went to a spiritual healer for treatment. She moaned and groaned and said everything was wrong with her. Everything hurt. She was sick all over. The healer said, well there must be one thing about your body that is OK. And she said well I guess my little finger is OK. So the healer said go home and meditate on the health of your little finger - praise and bless your little finger - and then come back in a week. So she did. When she came back the next week he asked her if there was anything else about her body that was OK - and she said well I think my arm is OK too. And he said good, go home and meditate on the health of your arm and praise and bless your arm for a whole week and then come back again. So she did... and finally... after many weeks... she was healed! Nice story.
So if you are feeling lousy - what's your focus?
Dear friends... The Road to Power just came out in India - and I didn't even know it until yesterday! But yesterday the beautiful Indian version of the book was delivered to me! It's published by Jaico Books in Mumbai (www.jaicobooks.com) so I am looking to having many new Indian friends very soon! Lots of love, Barbara
Do you think other people are the cause of your suffering? Well if you do, welcome to the club! There are so many of us who believe other people are the cause of our suffering, but is it true? Are other people the cause of our suffering?
To my great joy and delight, I have finally found a tool that can help me answer questions like this one. Yes, you guessed it... I am a great fan of Byron Katie and the Work. Do you know about the Work? Well if you don't all I can say is Byron Katie's 4 questions + the turnaround are a simple and brilliant way of finding out the truth about whatever is bothering you. I recommend it highly. Check out her book "Loving What Is" for a simple description of how to do the Work on your own. And then have fun unraveling yourself! No one can give you peace of mind except you!
What a great affirmation! How would you act if you really believed this was true? If you really believed that every person you meet on your pathway through life was a golden link is the chain of your good? Wouldn't it be incredible? Wouldn't life seem a lot more friendly? Try meditating on this today and see how your day goes! Love you!
