Will things clear up?

That's what we want to know isn't it? When we're doing all this inner work and are on the spiritual pathway, we want to know if things are going to clear up. We want to know if things are going to get better...  So that's the question - will things clear up? Will things get better if I do all this inner work? Will they?

Well here's my answer friends - here's the wisdom of a lifetime - the answer is YES and NO! Yes, they will clear up and No, they won't! And yes friends, don't laugh... that really IS the wisdom of a lifetime...

So what do I mean by "yes" and "no". I mean "yes" things will clear up because you will slowly slowly get more insight into the way your mind works and into the nature of reality. You will see that everything you experience - both good and bad - is just a thought in your mind. And I mean "no" things won't clear up and become some perfect Shangri La because Life will continue to happen just like it's happening now. Somebody will still back into your car when it parked in front of your house  (this happened to me the other day) and your boyfriend will do what he does and your kids will do what they do and your body will do what it does and you still have to go to work and pay the rent... so "no", there's no final solution, no perfect resolution of all your everyday problems. Your life just goes on and then you die - or at least your phyiscal body dies. But" yes", things do clear up because you see that that's the way it is and you don't identify so much any longer with this body and with all these things and events. You see them happening, you see that they are your so-called "life" but you also know that they are not really your "life". You see that your real "life" is something far more, you see that your real "life" is the unlimited, never-ending always unfolding "life" that is all of it... and so when you watch your little "life" unfolding from this spacious, unlimited perspective you can smile and feel at peace and say to yourself: "Well thanks, this really is quite a trip."

How to give a treatment

A Sample Treatment

Here is an example of how to Speak the Word and “give a treatment” for yourself or for anyone else. You can use this treatment for all types of situations and problems in the seeming such as a health problem or some kind of lack or disharmony.

Just put in your name or the name of the person you are treating for in the blank spaces. Say this treatment aloud if you can, otherwise say it slowly in your head as you think deeply about the meaning of each sentence. Do this several times a day until the problem or situation clears up and Perfect Harmony is restored

“This treatment is for _____. The words that I speak are the Truth about _____ and they go forth into the Great Universal Mind and they do not return unto me void but they accomplish the things of which I speak, with mathematical precision.

There is only ONE Life and that Life is God and that Life is Perfect and that Life is _____’s Life now. And I know that this Perfect Life is God within ______.  I also know that God within ______ is stronger than anything… stronger than any difficulty… that  _____ has to meet including this problem or situation with (name the problem or situation). God has given _____ dominion over my/his/her circumstances and that means that God has given ______ dominion over this problem / situation (name the problem, situation). Therefore _____ lets nothing in this situation frighten me/him/her because ______ knows that God is with ______.

I also remember what the beautiful Jesus said: “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mark 11:24). Therefore I have Perfect Faith, the Faith of the beautiful Jesus, that what ______ needs God has already provided. And that ______ is now uncovering the Good that already exists for me/him/her in the Mind of God. I give thanks in Perfect Faith for ______ (name the Good, for example Perfect Health or Perfect Harmony) even if ______ does not yet see it with the eyes of flesh. I see the Truth, the Perfect Good, the Perfect Being, the Perfect Health, the Perfect Condition, the Perfect Harmony!

Thank You Father for I know that Thou hearest me always!

   Amen.

   Hallelujah!”

What is crisis?

What do people really mean when they say they're "in crisis"? I'd say you're in crisis when you no longer have a choice!

As long as you are in a position to choose not to deal with whatever is bothering you - you're not really in crisis. You might be upset, but you're not really in crisis.

If you can distract yourself - by taking a pill or by drinking or by watching TV or by going out with your friends - you're not really in crisis. To me a crisis is when you have no choice anymore. When the pressure of what is bothering you is so great that you can't make it go away, then you are in crisis. You are in crisis when you can't escape... you are in crisis when you simply have to look at whatever it is and deal with it, learn to live with it, and maybe even understand it...

So in my book... you're really in crisis if you can no longer ignore what's bothering you because it is so intense.  If that's what's happening to you... well welcome to the club! Crisis is really where the action is - the place where you can grow the most... so Happy Crisis!

Here's how I spooked myself

Yesterday I had the coolest experience... I was downloading some super songs I loved back in the 80s and then I started dancing to this one number that I just loved back then - "I'm so excited" by the Pointers Sisters. And well, if you know me, this song is SO ME... cause you see, if you haven't already discovered it, that I do get SO excited at times...  Anyway, I was dancing to this number and then started feeling exactly how I felt back then when I was about to fly off and meet this fantastic lover I had at the time who lived far away from me.... You know that very special feeling when you are going to meet someone you are just wild about and who you haven't seen in a long time. And then I realized, I actually REALIZED, that here I am 62 years old, dancing full blast in my living room all by myself and feeling EXACTLY like I felt 20 years ago... the same excitment, the same joy of life - and I am not on my way to meet some wonderful lover, I am all alone in my living room - and I still have this feeling. I still have this feeling of life and joy. And where's the feeling?? It's in me! Whose feeling is it? It's mine. Whose joy of life is it? It's mine. And all these years I have been projecting that it WAS OUT THERE - and that it depended on someone outside of me. And realizing this, well that is what really really spooked me!

Will things get better in 2008?

I know you hope so... and sometimes I do too. But when we do this, when we hope for improvement in the future, it's only a sign that we're out of our minds, lost in thought, hoping for something out there in a future we now call 2008 that's going to make us OK and happy. But it's better to say it right now, out loud on this, the very first day of this new year that it's a DELUSION. There's nothing out there, no future, no nothing. All we've got is here and now. This moment, and it keeps happening, again and again. So can we get it now? Can we be fully present in the wonder and mystery of this NOW moment instead of continually chasing phantoms in the future...? Probably not because that's the way our minds work. Our minds project and fantasize about the future and tell stories and we BELIEVE the stories most of the time. But if we want to, as we become more aware and awake - we can watch our minds instead of believing our stories. We can just watch all this happening. We can watch how the thoughts just arise and how the stories come and go - yes we can do that. And we can breathe and smile and be here now. It's always our choice. Now, this first day of 2008 is the perfect time to BE HERE NOW...
